Kate is head of travel for ACM. She loves discovering new places and has visited all seven continents, including a year-long lap of Australia with her young family. My all-time favourite destination is ... Sri Lanka. It was two decades ago, but I still haven’t forgotten the smells, sights, sounds and tastes, plus the wonderful people, of that diverse country. Closer to home, the coastal town of Yamba never fails to please.Next on my bucket list is …The Galapagos or Greenland - both evocative countries that will expand the mind! My top travel tip is … Get lost! Take the unexpected path - you never know what you’ll find.
One of Australia's most unique stays has reopened - and two rooms are underwater
Sarah Maguire
Editor, Explore
Sarah is Travel Editor for ACM. She has edited leading travel liftouts and magazines in Australia for the best part of 20 years, and is amazed at how the exhilaration of going travelling never fades. My all-time favourite destination is … Italy. A three-week family holiday, from Rome to Venice via Tuscany and the Cinque Terre, was a pinch-ourselves dream come true, every single day.Next on my bucket list is … South America - in particular Argentina, Peru and Colombia. I’d love to explore them all, the capital cities and beyond. My top travel tip is … Make regular plans to travel and have adventures - however near or far from home - with the people you love most.

Akash Arora
Deputy Editor, Explore
Akash is the Deputy Travel Editor for Australian Community Media. He has lived and worked in four cities around the world – Sydney, London, New Delhi and New York – and, at last count, travelled to 42 countries. My all-time favourite destination is ... New York. You can drop a pin anywhere in Manhattan and start walking in any direction, and the sights and sounds of the city that never stops will begin to stimulate all your senses in an instant. Next on my bucket list is … Scandinavia - at the peak of summer, when the sun almost never sets. My top travel tip is … If you’re flying to Sydney from anywhere in the world, pick a window seat far from the wing on the left-hand-side of the aeroplane. If the weather gods and flight path align, you’ll have the most incredible views of the Sydney Harbour and Opera House.

Sarah Falson
Travel producer, ACM
Sarah is ACM’s travel producer. She believes regional travel is just as fun (if not better) than staying in the big cities and loves any travel experience to do with nature, animals and food!.My all-time favourite destination is ... Cornwall. From the giant seagulls to the blustery beaches, Cornish pasties and fishing villages, it stirs something romantic and seafaring in me. Next on my bucket list is … Mongolia. I want to go somewhere really unique that feels totally foreign and challenges my way of life. My top travel tip is … Don’t plan too much. Walk the streets and let it happen. And make sure you check out what’s within a few blocks of your hotel - sometimes the best local food is found that way.

Katrina is a Sydney-based freelance travel writer. She believes in travelling light (carry-on luggage all the way) and loves meeting quirky people in fascinating places. My all-time favourite destination is … the USA. I blame all that American television I soaked up as a child. If you adore music and architecture like I do, point yourself towards Nashville, New Orleans and Palm Springs.Next on my bucket list is … to see more of Africa. I’ve been to only four of its countries so there are still 50 to go.My top travel tip is … strike up a conversation with your plane-seat neighbour, taxi driver, waiter or hotel concierge. They might have a hot tip that becomes the highlight of your trip.

When I holiday, I choose Hawai’i because it’s the perfect blend of relaxation and fun.Next on my bucket list is … the Galapagos Islands. Snorkelling there with sea lions, penguins and marine iguanas is my dream. My top travel tip is … always say yes! To the weird food, the crazy adventure, the thing that scares you. As long as it’s safe, you’re not going to regret it. Well, maybe in the moment, but it will make a great story.

He is also a passionate advocate for Indigenous tourism, wellness and family travel. My all-time favourite destination is … Iceland. At home, northern WA and the NT are my go-tos for serious adventures.Next on my bucket list is … South America. The Atacama desert, the Amazon river, the Chilean fjords, the Andes mountains, the Galapagos islands, Patagonia. What a continent, can’t wait to see more of it. My top travel tip is … Whatever your age, when you travel, challenge yourself to do something that you have never done before. It might be scary but you’ll remember it forever.
